Day O-Plantation Restaurant and Bar is nestled in cool community of Fairfield Montego Bay in the Parish of St. James Jamaica, has a rich history.
Even though today it functions mainly as elegant place to hold a wedding or a business function, even a large family function while taking advantage of the catering, Caribbean, local and international cuisine that it provides.
Historically the Day O- plantation is part of the Barnett Estate that consisted of five sugar plantations. Remnants of the old Sugar Plantation Estate is still evident at the location. There is the ruin of an Aqueduct that was used to transport water around the estate.
Also the estate displays a Georgian architectural style that was typical for that period and can be seen when viewing the Gazebo or the interior rooms that leads to the Pool area, the garden walls and walkways.
The buildings that remain of part of the estate have been renovated and serves as an Event Place that has a Restaurant and Bar. The location is popular for hosting weddings, Anniversary’s, and Special Occasions. The main parts are the Gazebos, Pool and Fish Pond.
The location can accommodate up to a hundred guests. It is owned and operated by Jamaican musician Paul Hurlock and his wife Jennifer Hurlock. It is quiet environment that is outside the hustle of Montego Bay City.
The Restaurant and bar offers a selection of Champagne, White wine, Cuvee Jean Paul, 2013.
On the food menu is seafood such as lobster and shrimp. Tried and tested favorites:- pork scallopin, grilled fillet of beef and plantation chicken and Popular Jamaican dishes. Dine in elegant Splendor in a cozy and relaxed old plantation atmosphere and enjoy sumptuous dishes cooked to perfection.
Day O Plantation is wheel chair accessible and accepts reservations. There is sufficient parking at the facility and it also offers free wi-fi, most major credits cards/ digital payments are accepted
